Dear Colleagues and Friends,

It is our great pleasure and honor to host the 4th Joint Meeting of the Society for Free Radical Research Australasia and Japan, Dec 1-5, 2007 in Kyoto.  The impact of free radical research has been well recognized recently when we consider the causes of human mortality.
We are very proud that we can provide you the environment for future collaborative effort since leading scientists in this field get together for presentation and discussion.  This joint meeting is made possible with the effort of the both societies.  We believe that this meeting will be dedicated to the training of young scientists in addition to the friendship between the society members and the active exchange of novel ideas and observations in this field.  Furthermore,
Kyoto is a special traditional place in Japan as you may be aware of; this city has been the capital of Japan till 140 years ago for more than 1,000 years (since 794) and has more than two thousand temples and shrines within the city.  I trust that you can also enjoy the colored maple leaves in many places.  We look forward to seeing you in Kyoto in December 2007.

Sincerely yours,

Yuji Naito, Kyoto Prefectural University of Medicine
Shinya Toyokuni, Graduate School of Medicine, Kyoto University
